When the chrysalis feels like it is being attacked it wiggles a lot! Inside the chrysalis the caterpillars insides will dissolve.Then its insides will come back together and form into a butterfly.
They shake and twitch to form a chrysalis.When they are doing this on the top of its case, it is called the pupa stage.It will take about 10 days for them to open up and be butterflies.
